What Illegal Aliens & the Fort Dix Terror Plot have in common

"If I'm not mistaken, DG, himself, married, and has near adult children with, an illegal immigrant, who only became legal 2 weeks ago."

Originally, this comment by Mudkitty (and trust me, this will probably be the last post ever to mention her name now that moderation is in place) really made me mad. Then, I got to thinking about it. Like most liberals she is so uninformed that she doesn't even understand what the difference between an illegal alien and a legal alien is, much less the more complex difference between right and wrong.

Months ago she made a comment stating that most restaurant workers are illegal aliens.

Fact is, most restaurant workers are aliens, but not necessarily illegal aliens.

So here's a little education. When someone immigrates here legally, they receive a green card (which is actually pink, or at least Mrs. Pistachio's was). The green card recognizes the person as a legal resident of the United States, but does not grant citizenship - only legal residency. The process to be granted legal residency is intensive, and is designed to weed out the criminal element and not allow into this country any disease that has been eradicated from our country - or any health problems that will be harmful to the current legal residents and citizens of the United States. If the resident desires to become a citizen any time in the future, they still have to go through a separate process which includes fees, a test, and red tape once again designed to allow only the people serious about citizenship to attain such status. This latter process is what Mrs. Pistachio recently went through (she began the process in October of 2005).

Six suspects were arrested last night for terror conspiracy charges. They were planning to kill soldiers at Ft. Dix in New Jersey. All of the suspects are believed to be Islamic Radicals, and three of them (three Duka brothers) entered the United States illegally.

The terrorists intended to use automatic rifles to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, and guns as they could. A store clerk saw their plan on video that the terrorists wanted changed over to DVD and contacted the local police department, who in turn contacted the FBI. The suspects' images were captured on more than 50 audio and video recordings.

This goes to show two things. First, that even though we have taken the fight to the terrorists, it is still possible for us to suffer attacks on our shores, and secondly, considering that three of these people entered the U.S. illegally, shows the necessity of tightening our borders (both north and south).

One more tidbit about illegals. Even though entering the United States illegally is AGAINST THE LAW, there are groups that not only encourage the activity, but teach those here illegally how to use our justice system in their favor, and how to lie and resist law enforcement (and we wonder why they threw bottles and rocks at our law enforcement during the May Day rallies - at which time, as opposed to the MSM's attitude that police were abusive, I applaud our law enforcement for their restraint in that situation).

Anyway, in Maryland an immigrant advocacy group is distributing guidebooks explaining to illegals how to not cooperate with authorities if they are arrested or detained. In other words, there are idiot Americans trying to teach the border-jumping criminals how to deepen their criminal activities. Link to Guidebook.

Illegal is illegal. And it's not just about immigration. This issue is about Homeland Security as well.

By the way, two days ago was Political Pistachio's One Year Blogiversary. May 6, 2006 was my first post. More on this later.

I have been fuming about the recent riots, more specifically, how Chief Bratton has thrown his leaders under the bus driven by the MSM. That is disgraceful beyond compare.

I watched a portion of the video, and the only reporters that hit the ground were the ones who were resisting the direction of the police. A fat cameraman who could have easily walked away from the police CHOSE to stand and question the authority that was before him, and promptly met terra firma.

Clearly, the biggest mistake made was not making any arrests.

Bratton, you SUCK!

Hi Doug,

Well I've always said that Liberals aren't very intelligent. What with always putting the importance of being open minded who knows when their brains fell out.

Liberal lunacy meets no bounds. I never believed that they were that far gone. I always hold out hope, but even I am losing faith that these Americans will ever see the truth - or at least until forced to by another attack and other harsh lessons.

Hi Doug,

Well I once thought that but seeing the left getting even crazier and crazier then a loon, I have lost hope in the left completely. They care more for their own party than they do for the safety of the United States Of America and that's just plain facts.

Comment moderation is a bit of a chore, but if it eliminates the nonsense from MK, it is worth it. I have never known anyone so out of touch with reality and logic.

The illegal problem is becoming militant - the fault lies with the politicians, such as Braton, who wants to be mayor and our Congress. While they are busy being touchy-feely with the issue, they have opened the gates to our destruction.

Legal immigrants are the greatest resource our country has - you know, you are married to a great example!

MK's logic has been refuted time and time again.
Such blanket statements she makes are testaments to her (ahem) logic.
Interesting that she uses this type of fallacy in her arguments with Gibbs-
An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the person", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument by attacking or appealing to the person making the argument, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument. It is most commonly used to refer specifically to the ad hominem abusive, or argumentum ad personam, which consists of criticizing or personally attacking an argument's proponent in an attempt to discredit that argument.

Her reasoning is flawed, her arguments are fallacious and her attacks are personal.

We must clamp down on the border!
There is a reasoning behind the lack of border control circling around.
And that involves the US melting into Canada and Mexico, becoming the Northern Union.
So the thinking goes - so why clamp down on the border, we will be a borderless Northern Union.
It is coupled with the North America's Super Corridor (NASCO). A trade route that is already being used as such.
I am hard pressed to jump on this band of belief because I believe that Canada and the US would not give up their sovereignty for one.
And that this 'Northern Union' was born out of an End Times scenario leading up to the One World Government spoken of in the Bible.
It may be one piece of a larger puzzle, yet to come to fruition. But to claim it as prophesy coming true; one must be careful at such an assumption.
It may not.
EX. The ten toes spoken of in Daniel. A ten Nation Union with one ruler. Prophesy teachers have surmised that this Ten Nation Union is the EU.
Well, that was back when there were only 10 in the EU; now there are 26!
I consider that current history is proof that this supposed revived Roman Empire is NOT the EU. (granted things may change)
I will also venture to say that this levels on False Prophesy, and therefore those who preach it are False Prophets.

We do not know exactly what may transpire concerning the 'Revived Roman Empire'. And Jesus has said that no sign will be given except the sign of the Prophet Jonah.
I am not one to follow conspiracies whether it be from the Left or within Christianity.

One counter argument to my reasoning on another blog was that trade is the beginning of a take over of another country.
Now, we can surmise that China wants to take us over, thus trade with China accounts in as much as being taken over.
I do not adhere to this logic. Trade has been going on for centuries! It is nothing new! Countries have not been taken over merely on trade alone.

People want to get into America the easy way. A better way of life, to make more money, to become an American.
There are too many criminals crossing the border the easy way. It is a Law Enforcement problem. And therefore the Law must be tougher on illegals.
Amnesty will not work! President Reagan did it in the 80's.

I congratulate Mrs. Pistachio for becoming a US Citizen!
BTW I do know a former roommate who is from Mexico, here LEGALLY who is NOT a US citizen.
I agree with Gibbs of what {the difference between an illegal alien and a legal alien is}

FTGF!

Illegals live in a subterranean world. By the very nature of their status, they have to be involved in criminal behaviour every day.

It's like James Q Wilson's "Broken Windows" theory. The more you turn a blind eye to "low level crime" the more you are going to have to deal with the bigger crimes.

Speaking of vandals, it is tiresome enabling comment moderation, but sometimes needs must.

"My Point" nails it... the MSM is once again playing these "kids" off as patsy's. Sickens me. Now, had they succeeded, all hell would have broken loose and the MSM would be burning Bush in effigy.

Hubby's green card is "tannish" with green writing.
