No Health Insurance? Be Fined Up To $3,800

By Douglas V. Gibbs

How do I say this to the Left in the right way? Hmmmm. Oh, I know: "I told you so."

Democrat Senator Max Baucus of Montana says that anybody that does not have health insurance should be fined.

But don't worry, if you can't cover it, Baucus will give you tax credits.

Though Max Baucus' plan is not the same as H.R. 3200, he is letting the cat out of the bag regarding what the Left really wants to do with health insurance.

The plan is to make health insurance mandatory. If you can't afford health insurance, with Baucus' plan you get tax credits, but with Barry's plan it will be a default to the federal health care package. What if you don't feel you need health insurance? Too bad. What if you are wealthy and would rather just pay cash? Too bad.

It's a double whammy. First, you lose more choices (losing a choice is akin to losing a piece of liberty). Second, it is a way to make sure people end up in nationalized health care, with the hopes that eventually everyone will be federally covered. So, if you can't afford health insurance, but will not sign on to Obamacare should it pass? Too bad.

But don't worry, Obama keeps telling us, "If you like your existing health plan, you can keep it."

Does that mean the government is "letting" me keep what I choose? Who are they to make that choice?

Yes, yes, I know that Max Baucus spoke out of turn, and Obama says that such drivel is misinformation being spread by those crazy, extremist right-wingers. But if H.R. 3200 passes, believe me when I say that what Baucus said is not that far-fetched. These people desire to force you into Obamacare, first with fines for not having insurance, and eventually by phasing out competitors with unrealistic regulations, ultimately destroying the private industry.

A Single Payer System, European and Canadian Style, is exactly what these people want - whether you like it, or not.
