Obama's House of Cards

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Presidency of Barack Obama has been stigmatized by the political right, and for good reason, in America since the day he first took the stage and proclaimed he was running for the presidency. The disagreements have been over his policies that grow government, and spends money like water flows down a river. Independents, and a handful of regretful Democrats, joined the conservatives in the opposition to Obama when the Tea Parties emerged, and the Town Hall meetings became a battleground. Now, more members of the left are joining the growing opposition to Obama, and the Congressional Democrats. The growing roar of disagreement with Obama is putting the Obama Administration on track to be the most spectacularly failed presidency, ever.

Obama is failing big, from foreign policy, to domestic issues. The right is angry because his health care proposal would enable the government to take control of one-sixth of the private sector. The left is angry because Obama and gang have not closed the deal, and are beginning to make compromises the leftists do not approve of.

The right is angry over Afghanistan because Obama dithered before making a decision, did not provide the full amount of troops McChrystal requested, and did not make his decision to add troops on the premise of success as evidenced by the inclusion of a timetable. The left is angry because he sent troops in the first place. Wasn't Obama promising to end all the wars?

And that is not even considering the campaign promises that Obama has refused to consider.

Promises, goodwill, and a big smile does not make a leader. Refusing to listen to the American People does not make a very good President. Rather than being the people's president, as he promised, Obama has become the failing president that is not only unliked, but is actually loathed. His message of unity has vanished, he has overexposed himself in ways that it makes him look like it is more about him and less about the people, and he is failing because it is becoming blazingly clear that he is dishonest, and was being untruthful from the very beginning.

Up to voting day all we knew about Barack Obama was what he had told us in his books. And into the presidency, he carried on the habit of talking about himself. At West Point he used the word "I" 36 times. His presidency has been about Obama, and Obama's agenda, not about America, and America's exceptionalism.

Presidents that are strong leaders who elevate the nation above themselves have been the past leaders that have been considered as having successful presidencies. We admire figures like that because we wish to follow men who places the nation ahead of their own search for power.

Obama is dishonest, and a politician who has been in the mix for himself, not the nation. In addition to his dishonesty, it turns out he has never held an executive position in his life, doesn't understand economics, is willing to continue to pursue mythical Climate Change even as the science falls apart before everyone's eyes, is historically illiterate, and he is unable to make due on any of his campaign promises.

Worst of all, the policies of Barack Obama are in complete opposition to the U.S. Constitution and the intentions of the Founding Fathers. Obama's socialism is in line with the ideologies of the nations that have historically aligned themselves as enemies of America. Socialism is not compatible with the principles of a Constitutional Republic, and in the end, one will have to go.

That is the ultimate reason Obama's presidency is a failure. People are fast realizing that "change" was not what they thought it would be. Just because a change for the worst is change, it doesn't make the change a good idea.

Oh, by the way, Obama's 47 Percent approval rating is the lowest of any U.S. President at this point of a term - and suddenly Gallup is not a valid source for polling, according to Robert Gibbs.

It's like a kid with their hands over their ears shouting, "La la la la la, I can't hear what you are saying, la la la la la."
