Scott Brown: Massachusetts Minuteman

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The first American Revolution began in Boston, Massachusetts when patriots threw tea into the harbor. This American Revolution is also beginning in Massachusetts, but this time the patriots are throwing Marxists out of Washington DC.

The Democrats plan to press ahead on their dismantling of the American health care system, but the message is clear that the American People do not wish to explode the size of the federal government. The leftist approach is not a fiscally responsible approach to our economic difficulties, and the leftist agenda is not consistent with the liberty this nation has enjoyed over the last 234 years. The new revolution has arrived, and the voters of Massachusetts are the first to fire a shot at Washington in an effort to stop the madness.

Is Scott Brown the Minuteman he claims to be?

Scott Brown ran his campaign against the Democrat's health care agenda, and the voters responded by voting him in. As American voters, however, it is our responsibility to make sure that Brown, and all of our representatives, are representing us as we expect them to.

We The People need to make sure that Scott Brown remembers what he said. He is occupying "the People's Seat," and as a Republican, Democrat, or Independent, the message we must continue to send to Washington is that the American People is demanding the politicians to stop catering to the lobbies and special interest groups, and we must make it clear to these people that this a Free Republic, not a socialist state in waiting.

The Battle for Kennedy's former seat is only the beginning. If the bluest of blue states is willing to put a Republican campaigning against the Democrat's liberal madness into the U.S. Senate, just imagine what will happen in November.

Prediction?

In November of 2010, if the Republican Party gets the message, and the voters make sure they support conservative candidates and vote them into position in the primaries, the GOP will take over control of both the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Conservatism wins when our statesmen run on Conservative Principles.

You betcha.
