The Constitution Made Easy

As a highly centralized government, one that the founders of this nation would not approve of, seems poised to change the foundations of the American Form of Government, a new drive to understand the United States Constitution, and its limiting principles, has emerged. The federal government has broken away from the constraints of the U.S. Constitution, but how can we claim this to be the case if we haven't read the Constitution, or we do not fully understand its text?

The entire Constitution, Bill of Rights, and all amendments since are written in what some folks would call "legalese." No wonder many folks claim the only folks that can understand the document are a bunch of lawyers!

The first three words of The Preamble, however, is "We The People. . ."

For the people, by the people, and of the people.

The people, then, must understand the U.S. Constitution if we are going to demand that our federal government abides by it.

Michael Holler created "The Constitution Made Easy," a modernized version of the U.S. Constitution designed for easy reading. He made great effort to preserve the original meaning and intent of the Founding Fathers in his modern English version, while keeping the original side-by-side for comparison.

The original Constitution is on the left-hand page, and the modern English version is on the right. The two versions look very different from each other, and the headers at the top of each page confirms which version is below it.

The Constitution Made Easy is easy to understand, but is not intended to replace the original document, only make it easier for you to understand. With the modern English version you will be able to grasp the essential propositions and themes, and it will inspire you to delve deeper into the original document, as well as pursue the writings of the founding fathers to help add to your understanding of the Constitution.
