White House Civil War General Rahm Emanuel, Son of the Devil's Spawn

By Douglas V. Gibbs

It seems, even for "dead fish" Rahm Emanuel, the administration of Obama is out of control.

According to the main-extreme media, Emanuel is the voice of centrism in the White House, and it is Rahm, and Rahm alone, that is keeping America from diving headlong into an age of big government radicalism.

Rahm Emanuel has been hailed as being a hard-hitting enforcer that will slug, and cuss, and call people "retards," to worm his way into position if he has to. The story of a dead fish, or how he delivered one, Corleone style, to a polltaker he didn't like, is legend. But the tale sums up Rahm Emanuel. The foul mouthed Chief of Staff is known as one willing to make deals, trade back-room intelligence, back-stab, or bully his way into position to close a deal.

When Emanuel first entered the White House scene he was seen as a radical, a reliable leftist that would ensure the President's agenda made all of its deadlines. As Rep. John Yarmuth, a Kentucky Democrat who has had testy but respectful dealings with Emanuel, said when Emanuel was first announced to the people, in regards to Obama making things work in Washington, "Rahm will be the mechanic."

Accustomed to being the center of controversy, Rahm Emanuel probably doesn't care what is being said about him by the press, talking heads, New Media bloggers, or the politicians in Washington. But, the hard left Rahm Emanuel would never believe that he is being hailed as being a centrist voice of reason in a White House administration that is constantly facing criticism, and mounting disapproval numbers.

In fact, even though the Conservatives give credit to the Republicans, and the rising voice of the Tea Party Movement, the biased main-extreme media is actually claiming that Emanuel's opposition to closing Guantanamo Bay is why the base is still open, and Rahm's "modest approach to health care reform" is single-handedly holding Obama back from pursuing the ambitious progressive agenda he laid out during the presidential campaign.

Who'd have thought Rahm Emanuel is such a nice, even-keel, guy?

The Washington Post is proclaiming that Rahm Emanuel is "the only person keeping Obama from becoming Jimmy Carter."

In fact, outgoing New York Democratic Rep. Eric Massa, who said he was leaving Congress over health issues, but is now stepping aside officially after conceding that he had subjected a male aide to verbal sexual harassment at a wedding reception, had the following to say about the centrist, all-around nice guy, Rahm Emanuel: ". . . son of the devil's spawn" who would "sell his own mother to get a vote."

Oh, wait, wait, ahhh, that's the Rahm we know so well and love to make fun of.

So if that is the case, then how is it that the media sees this guy as such a nice guy, and a pragmatic voice of reason in the White House?

If compared to Barack Obama, and the Congressional Democrats, "dead fish" Rahm Emanuel is such a nice guy, then what does that say about Obama, and the people he has surrounded himself with in Washington?

The Hill published a report over the weekend suggesting that unfavorable tidbits about Emanuel were leaked from inside the White House, while Emanuel himself has been accused of pulling strings with friendly contacts at the Washington Post to get them to print nice things about him.

No wonder the Washington Post says Rahm is such a great guy.

Okay, once again we are reminded how much of a douche bag Emanuel is, which returns us to that question, if a piece of crap like Rahm is the voice of reason, how out of control crazy is the Obama Administration aside from Rahm Emanuel?

Regardless of Obama's radicalism, one thing is becoming glaringly clear: A civil war is about to break out in the White House, and Rahm is one of the generals in that coming battle.

President Obama is even now trying to douse the flames, ordering staffers to refrain from further leaks to avoid fueling more speculation. "Don't get absorbed in the Washington finger-pointing and intrigue," was how a White House aide described Obama's staff directive.

Obama wants his staff to keep their eye on the ball, but it seems the ball is bouncing all over the dang place, and the pitching machines are getting ready to change over to the right side of the plate in November, so time is short.

Well, whatever is going on, one this is for sure; Rahm Emanuel is no longer an enforcer. He has now officially become a major distraction.
