Employment Non-Discrimination Act Discriminates Against People of Faith, and Places Your Children in Moral Jeopardy

By Douglas V. Gibbs

HR 3017, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), is still trying to make its way through Congress. LGBT activists have been one of the forces behind the legislation. Members of Congress, with the rising voices of the American People calling for a return to the Constitution, and Conservatism, are getting nervous. A bloodbath awaits them in November, and the tide of public opinion is overwhelmingly against the radical agenda the Leftists and gay activists are pushing with ENDA.

ENDA is an attempt at a terrible assault on religious liberty. H.R. 3017 aims to force states to broaden their protection of minority status individuals, which would include making "gender identity" a protected minority. As a protected group, local governments and businesses with more than 15 employees will be forced to recognize the provisions of the bill, making it so that every public school in America will not be able to refuse the hiring of transgender teachers, and it would be illegal to reassign them from the classroom, should this dangerous bill pass.

Chai Feldblum, Obama's radical appointee to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, is the person who authored this bill. She is a gay rights extremist who believes that homosexuality should be taught to our children as a normal behavior, while any reference to religion should be forced to be stricken from the schools, including any personal religious profession by students.

The bill, if passed into law, would allow cross-dressers and those who have had surgical operations to alter their gender to share the same protections as minorities, as per section 3 of the bill. The states would be forced to accept recognizing gender identity as a protected status, regardless of local state laws, according to the proponents of this bill. Passage of this sinister bill would strip states of their right to legislate in matters of employee discrimination, education and morality.

A clear example of the federal government trampling on states' rights, this bill is not only a break-down of the federal authorities regarding the U.S. Constitution, but it also presents to our children difficult questions regarding gender identity that Christians, for example, believes to be a perverted lifestyle that should not be taught to our children as a normal lifestyle when it clearly is not.

Our impressionable young children, while in school, need a stable environment in which to learn, not an environment filled with upheaval and confusion. Forcing children, who are struggling to find their place, to remain in classrooms taught by teachers working through their own identity issues will breed more gender confusion and enervate the educational experience.

This bill must never become law. Contact your lawmaker and tell them that ENDA is wrong, and that they should be working to defeat HR 3017.
