The Confusion Over Obama's Religion

By Douglas V. Gibbs

My first thought is that the Left says that there is nothing wrong with Muslims, the terrorists are a minority group of Islam, and the Democrats are even willing to grant the Muslims a place to build a mosque a couple blocks from Ground Zero, even though there are many mosques in the area, and the neighborhood that the Cordoba Initiative is supposed to be built in has no Muslims in it, and it is a commercial district. However, they are appalled that anyone would suggest the President is Muslim. What's the big deal? If Islam is peaceful, why the worry?

The main-extreme media is doing whatever it can to convince America that Obama is not Muslim, despite the fact that his father was a Muslim, and his step-dad was a Muslim. As a result of such a push is the following news broadcast, that uses words like "incorrectly," "confusion," "mistakingly," "untrue rumors," "wrongly," "conspiratorial," "false reports," and "otherness," to remind you over and over and over that it couldn't possibly be true. . . despite the evidence.

But the most interesting thing about the video from ABC News is the reason given for Obama not yet choosing a congregation. . .

And I thought it was just that he'd rather play golf.
