Training Base for Saudi Arabia. . . In Idaho

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In an effort to counteract Iran's military efforts, we are arming the enemy of our enemy. Even though Saudi Arabia is a sponsor of terror, anti-Christian, and largely anti-American, they seem to be one of our primary hopes in the Middle East when it comes to having a counterweight against Iran.

To facilitate Saudi Arabia's ability to stand up to Iran, the U.S. Goverment made a $60 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia, which includes a training base for the Saudi Royal Air Force in the State of Idaho.

Did you get that? In addition to selling Saudi Arabia superior combat aircraft and military helicopters, thus giving Saudi Arabia the most modern fighter jets in the entire region, we are also providing a training base in the United States for Saudi Arabia, to compliment the $60 billion arms package.

The idea is to prepare Saudi Arabia to serve as a balance against the resurgent Iranian regime. This not only prolongs Saudi Arabia’s heavy dependence on U.S. defense support, but also provides weaponry to a Muslim nation that could very well turn on us in the near future.

The Saudi government will bear all costs for basing the squadron in Idaho, and the arms sale will no doubt provide a boost to the arms industry in the United States.

But do not forget that not only is Saudi Arabia a known sponsor of Wahabbist terrorism, but most of the 9/11 hijackers were. . . drum roll please. . . Saudis.

This deal may work as a quick fix in trying to keep Iran from popping a cork, but down the road this deal could become very costly - not in the terms of monetary cost, but in the terms of us arming a potential enemy (not to mention the terror groups that may benefit from this package, as well).
