In Southern California, yesterday, the drama played out all day. A shooter in Sylmar had barricaded himself inside a home, after being suspected of shooting a Los Angeles Police Department officer.
The police officer was struck twice by the gunman firing from inside the home. The officer was shot in the jaw and shoulder, and was listed Monday evening in critical but stable condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
