My Prayer for today's National Day of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer. As a Christian, I choose to pray for our nation. The following is the prayer I offer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your blessings to our nation. This nation has known You from the beginning, basing its foundations of government upon the model You gave us through Israel and Moses. However, in recent times, not all is right with America. We have kicked prayer out of school, murdered our unborn babies, have not given Israel our full support, and we are now allowing homosexuality to compromise Your blessed institution of marriage. We are in deep need of moral and spiritual renewal to help us meet the many problems we face. Lord, please soften the hearts of Americans, and help us to turn to You for our strength. Accept our repentance, and our faith in Your mercy. Lead us to walk with You on a path of righteousness. Inspire our leaders to seek the right direction for our nation. As the Serenity Prayer calls for, help us to accept the things we cannot change; courage to change the things we can; and the wisdom to know the difference. We humble ourselves before You, and recognize that You alone are our Savior and Lord. This we pray in Jesus' Name, Amen.
