3.6 Earthquake Rocks Temecula, Anza and Hemet Regions

By Douglas V. Gibbs

This morning just before 1:30 am a 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit between Temecula and Hemet just northwest of the Anza area. Local residents felt the jolt along the San Jacinto fault, but the quake was minor enough that it caused no damage.

Why bring it up?

I thought it was interesting that my wife felt it, and told me an earthquake had struck about 1:30 am when we got up this morning. I slept through it.

I slept through the Northridge quake too.
