Black Man Hands Out Whites Only Scholarships

By Douglas V. Gibbs

College is not inexpensive. I put my wife through college, and it about broke us. Because of the high cost of a college education, folks now often either bypass the avenue of indoctrination by universities, or pursue college scholarships.

Marcus Carter is a part of that scholarship process. He is an African-American, and is the vice-president of the Former Majority Association for Equality - a group that awards scholarships solely to white men.

And surprise! There is controversy over this.

It is as if the liberal opinion out there says whites shouldn't be receiving scholarships, especially from a black man.

Talk about trying to create race warfare!

Carter says critics fail to understand awarding scholarships to anyone, regardless of their race or ethnicity, is beneficial to everyone.

Carter has also indicated that, "I can't really say I understand where they're coming from, being only 27-years-old, I don't feel racially oppressed."

The creator of the college fund, Colby Bohannan, says that he was motivated to start the scholarship program after feeling ostracized by other racially-exclusive grants offered to non-whites.

"It just got really frustrating when every other scholarship you happen to find online you need not apply to based on your ethnicity or gender."

The nine-member board of directors includes a Hispanic man and two women. All nine members work on a volunteer basis.

Offering scholarships to specific racial and ethnic groups, including whites, is nothing new, but for some reason the liberal thinking is that only whites should give whites scholarships, but minorities should be able to get scholarships from anyone.

And liberals call non-liberals the racist ones?

Carter, despite the controversy, participates in handing out these scholarships anyway.
