The democrats have various ways they buy votes. The most obvious is through entitlements. They give the alleged poor "free" government money, and in return the enslaved pledges their undying loyalty, and votes. Then the liberals work on creating more poor.
The liberal left also buys votes in other ways. One of those ways is through the unions.
Government cannot create jobs, but the democrats have a large number of the population believing that they can. They will tell you that unemployment insurance provides stimulation for the economy (how idiotic is that? All they are doing is paying people not to work, not to produce, therefore not to be a part of any growth of the private sector), rebates on social security taxes will create demand and jobs (once again, idiotic), and that a little more spending (of which has been nothing but disastrous so far) is all they need to complete the recovery (what recovery? we never got out of the recession in the first place!).
The liberal left pays no credence to the fact that if they want jobs created, the way to do it is to provide structural reforms that will reduce regulations against private businesses, and eliminate government involvement that inhibits competition. One way to do that would be to can most union work rules.
The idea in business is to be efficient, meaning getting the most work done for the least possible cost. This, in turn, would reduce the cost of products, while increasing the supply of goods.
Government jobs, of course, are more like hiring four people to do the job of one, and the job is often akin to digging holes so they can fill them up again.
Stimulus money does nothing for the economy, and most of the money so far has been thrown around for the purpose of getting support from chosen businesses, and making the unions happy (which will in turn send the money right back to the democrats, while promising their undying loyalty in getting more democrat votes).
In other words, the stimulus money that belongs to the taxpayers is going to unions to buy their loyalty, buy their votes, and to launder that money into the democrat party.
Bernie Madoff, eat your heart out. You've got nothing on liberal politicians.
Now, Obama is offering a $447 billion plan, most of which will also go to helping corporations that have earned preferred status, and sending the money to the unions for the promise of more votes, and more laundered money.
In return, the American People will get more ridiculous prevailing wage laws that put smaller employers at a disadvantage, and union work rules that will ensure more massive overpayment for infrastructure projects that aren't even under the constitutional authority of the federal government in the first place.
In the end, there will still be no boost to the economy, no job creation, and more power to the unions.
Obama's proposals will drive up labor costs, which will make the unions happy because part of those costs will be higher union wages, higher benefits, and higher pensions (despite the fact that these things are killing the host businesses that these union parasites have attached to).
President Obama's jobs bill has no intention of bringing down unemployment, or benefiting the economy. The goal of the liberal democrats is to push forth their socialistic agenda, make the government's relationship with their preferred corporations more solid, and the strengthen the power of the unions.
But the leftists won't stop there. Aside from their normal vote stealing associated with the dead voting, multiple voting, demanding recounts and then adding otherwise unacceptable votes, and so forth, the liberal left is also working to eliminate the Electoral College which protects us from the mob rule of pure democracy, while ensuring that illegal aliens vote, signing up felons to vote, and creating multiple voting which is possible because of the democrat supported attitude that no ID be required to vote.
Universal vote registration, which automatically registers voters, is one of the tactics used to ensure they can steal more votes.
This is why we need to find a way to ensure the voting places are policed, and work to get "ID needed to vote" laws in place.
Of course the liberal left will use bullying tactics, too. Well, that and the media doing the Left's bidding - like in how it uses its liberal bias to report things.
Karl Marx was right. He who controls the voting booth, wins.
We can't let the Left control the voting. Be involved. Push for voter ID laws, and fight against things like Card Check so as to stop the growing threat of the unions.
