Obama: 153 Bridges Are Structurally Deficient

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Obama is in campaign mode, and he hopes that you are so stupid that you won't think critically enough to realize he is full of crap.

During a speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, where Obama was trying to push his jobs bill (that still does not technically exist), Mr. Obama used his fear-tactic to try to rally support. The President said, "There are a lot of roads and a lot of bridges that need fixing. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in schools and airports. All these things are in need of repair. In North Carolina alone, there are 153 structurally deficient bridges that need to be repaired."

First, the number he just threw in the air reminds me of the exaggerations my kids made when they were little. "Look, daddy, that man has a thousand sodas in his shopping cart." "Daddy, I did so good the teacher gave me a thousand percent."

"Look, everybody, in North Carolina alone there are 153 bridges breaking down!"

153 bridges falling apart in North Carolina alone? Really?

Just for the sake of argument, though, let's take him for his word. Apparently, Obama must have some clairvoyant ability to mentally detect (yeah, he's mental, all right) that 153 bridges in North Carolina are falling apart, or perhaps federal inspectors have visited each of those bridges and have determined the deplorable state of those bridges (hundreds of bridges in all 50 states - or 57 states according to Barry - adds up to a lot of inspections. . . and tax dollars - I'd like to see those reports), or perhaps the State of North Carolina let Obama know that by their determination 153 bridges are structurally deficient (and if that's the case, please Mr. Obama, could you identify the bridges, and let us see the communication from North Carolina that determines those bridges are in need of repair), or perhaps the cities sent the information to the President (still want to see the documentation). Or, Obama could be full of crap.

I opt for the last one.

Ol' Big Ears is campaigning, just as he did before. He's telling us he needs to be president and needs to spend money so that he can save this country from falling apart - because you know those mean ol' Republicans won't fix this stuff, and you can't trust the States to fix their own stuff.

Okay, fine. So why, Mr. President, didn't you fix all of these decrepit bridges over the last three years like you promised? Where did all of that stimulus money go if the bridges didn't get fixed? And if those bridges are so dangerous, then why are you allowing them to stay open, in turn risking the lives of Americans as they travel across those horribly dangerous bridges? Why aren't they shut down? Why don't we have the names of those bridges so that we know to avoid them?

Once again, those are all rhetorical questions, because we know that Barry is full of crap. He's lying, like liberal democrats do all the time.

Except, this time less people believe the Marxist charlatan. His lies mean nothing. The people are informed, realize he's a liar, and that is why he will lose by a landslide in 2012.

New York's District Nine (Weiner's seat) being won easily by Bob Turner is evidence of that.
