DNC Union Favoritism in Charlotte

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The 2012 Democrat National Convention will be in Charlotte, North Carolina. To run the event, the Democrat National Committee will need to hire a lot of local workers. DNC Convention jobs are only going to go out to union workers. If you aren't union, you need not apply.

The DNC is denying that they will only allow unionized firms to bid. Then, shortly after denying that it was discriminating against non-union companies, the DNC chose Washington, DC-area vendor, Hargrove, Inc. Hargrove has a history of using union labor for its convention, trade shows and expo work.

Then, the DNC also began forcing the downtown-Charlotte hotels to displace their own existing workers and began bringing in union labor to work the hotels during the DNC Convention.

At the Ritz Carlton, Charlotte, where President Obama is supposed to be staying during the convention, employees did confirm that they had been told they would be laid off during the convention.

Of course the democrat party is showing a preference to unions. That is how they play the game. The democrats pick the winners and the losers. They choose the unions because the unions are yet another arm of the democrat party. And it is through the unions that the democrats keep a stranglehold on the businesses of the nation. The unions are the democrat party's muscle against free enterprise, and a way to buy more votes.
