Michele Bachmann, Jimmy Fallon, NBC, and The band's song choice

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The latest Republican Debate came and went, and I was not impressed. All of the various conservative talkers, however, thought it was the best one yet. So be it. One thing is for sure, Michele Bachmann reminded us why she is in the race. She shined in that debate, perhaps working back to the position she held after she had won the Iowa Straw Poll. I have no doubt that if she became President, she is capable of leading this country into the future with firm leadership abilities. Concerns over her lack of executive experience may not be warranted. I agree that former governors tend to have experience leading a government, and that kind of experience can be crucial for a successful presidency.

One of the many problems with Obama is that lack of executive experience. I don't even think he has led a lemonade stand, much less a business, or a government.

Bachmann, however, is different. Aside from her experience in business, her experience in Congress dealing with Obama is huge. She understands the details of Obama-backed legislation, and how to dismantle it.

When Michele was doing well in the polls, the liberal media took aim and did all they could to personally destroy her. Unfortunately, some people believed the lies.

That is how the liberal left works. They can't win in the arena of ideas, so they attack with the politics of personal destruction. They create a hate within their ranks so intense that even common sense is unable to break the spell. The hate Bush frenzy got so bad that the mere mention of George W. Bush's name sent many of the liberal left disciples into a vile rage.

The liberal left, and the leftist media, tried to work the same kind of madness against Bachmann, and for some of the liberal tools, it worked beautifully.

Michele Bachmann was a guest on Jimmy Fallon's failing NBC late, late, late-night show, and when she was introduced and came out to assume her seat, the house band played a song. They didn't sing the lyrics, but the title of the song is "Lying Assed Bitch."

Now, I can ask what lies they are referring to, but then that would force them into the realm of facts, and the liberal left is too propaganda driven to fall for that one. What amazes me, however, is that the liberal democrats are supposed to love it when a woman is independent, successful, and strong. But when that woman is a Conservative Republican, they suddenly go into convulsions, or something. So here comes the only female candidate for president of the United States, a Republican, who was introduced this way with the song "Lying Assed Bitch", and one must ask, how would such a thing have gone over with the press if, say, someone like Hannity introduced any of the democrat women that way?

The long was the drummer's idea, and he tweeted happily about it. He was proud of his vile choice of song. What was worse, is Michele Bachmann didn't know what the song was. She was being treated in the worse kind of way, and she was not even aware of it. That is akin to a sucker punch when you are not looking.

Fighting dirty, I would say.

NBC ignored it, or laughed it off. We heard nothing from them. They were probably exchanging high fives when it happened. I doesn't matter to them that the only woman candidate for president was treated this way, because she's a republican - which apparently makes her fair game.

Such a thing would never have been tolerated if she was a democrat.

Double standard?

Did you expect any different from these people?

The feminist groups didn't even say anything about it. They jump all over the false accusations against Herman Cain, and they jumped all over Cain for calling Pelosi "Princess Nancy," but "Lying Assed Bitch" is just fine for a republican woman.

The next day on Fox News Bachmann said of the incident, "I wasn't aware of it at all. I didn't find out until later yesterday, and at that point I was traveling and making my way to the presidential debate. I'm hoping to be able to speak to Jimmy Fallon today. I don't have anything against Jimmy Fallon. I love him, he's a kick. It was a great opportunity to be on the show. I'd love to go back again, but I think the point is if that had been Michelle Obama who had come out on the stage and if that song had been played for Michelle Obama, I have no doubt that NBC would have apologized to her and likely they could have fired the drummer, at least suspended him. None of that happened from NBC. And this is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite, but it's also I think sexism as well."

The liberals are still joking about it. They think it is funny. Fallon claims he grounded the drummer. But just imagine if this had been Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton. Imagine the backlash against a conservative if they had done something like this to any female democrat.

That is who the liberals are.

NBC did eventually apologize. . . after the uproar.
