Shannon Farren of KFI: "Conservative. . . You know, a bunch of old white guys."

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The worst team owner in baseball, Frank McCourt, is going to sell the Dodgers. The owner, since taking ownership of the Los Angeles baseball team seven years ago, has endured legal, financial and marital troubles that all added up to him coming to a point where he wasn't even sure he would be able to meet payroll during the season.

Shannon Farren of KFI 640 AM was discussing this issue with Bill Carroll, and how the team could very well sell for $1 billion. One of the potential owners of the Dodgers is Mark Cuban, the current owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks.

Mark Cuban is young and charasmatic, and definitely one that is willing to stir the pot. Shannon Farren commented that the current group of baseball owners may be nervous about someone like Mark Cuban. After all, the current group of owners are "quite conservative. You know, a bunch of old white guys."

I realize that she was not specifically aiming at the political edge of things, but in reality she was. Her description was in line with what the liberal left has been trying to push since the rise of progressivism in America.

Mark Cuban, when it comes to his politics, is all over the map. But taking Shannon's words for face value, we must ask a few questions...

Is she saying that Mark Cuban is not conservative because he's young and Jewish? Is she saying the current crop of owners are conservative because they are old and white?

And liberals call conservatives racist?
