Chicago Teachers Go On Strike

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Wow, the Chicago Teacher's Union is willing to go on strike against a liberal mayor like Rahm Emanuel. Interesting.

What is even more interesting is the demands of the union. Like most liberals, they don't care if there is no money, they want what they think they are entitled to. The Chicago teachers are already the highest paid teachers in the country, averaging $76,000 per year before benefits, and they are going on strike after rejecting a 16% pay raise.

I remember when I was a banker, and it was pretty exciting to get a raise between two and four percent.

And people think just the politicians are out of touch. The unions are beyond out of touch.

They want what they want, and they don't care if the city is on the edge of bankruptcy.

They sound like the Greeks rioting in the streets over austerity measures, don't they?

There is no money. What part of that do they not understand.

Now for the real crazy part. . .

Remember, the libtards don't think parents can parent their children worth a damn, and will let their children starve. So, to protect the little darlings from their irresponsible parents, the schools are staying open for free breakfast and lunch for the children that participate in the programs. . . you know, to make sure they eat.

And yes, the taxpayers are paying for it - and the more than 16% raise for the highest paid teachers in the land, once the city gives in, too.

Where's someone like Scott Walker when you need them?

Oh, one more thing. You know how Chicago endures more deaths than Afghanistan? Well, the dangerous kids will be in the streets, and with 400,000 kids running freely without parental supervision (well, if the parents don't feed their kids, surely they don't watch them, either), the cops are on high alert.

Welcome to Chicago - - - liberal utopia.
