Constitution Radio: Gun Owners Beware, Gun Control Democrats on the Warpath

Join the conversation: 888-909-1050 on KCAA AM 1050's Constitution Radio with Douglas V. Gibbs.  Listen Online at 2:05 pm Pacific at KCAAradio.com.

Larry Pratt from "Gun Owners of America" joins Constitution Radio this morning, with guest host JASmius at the helm. As States work to confiscate guns, and the federal government is working to limit guns any way they can, it has become apparent that to these people the Constitution means little to them in regards to our gun rights.

In California, the proposed legislation by democrats, who hold a super majority in both houses, include:

- Possession of hollow point bullets and similar assault bullets a felony.

- Must register and report ammo purchases. Only purchase max 500 rounds.

- 10 round magazine limit

- ALL magazines must be fixed to the gun (can not be removed without the use of a tool)

- 100% prohibition of all magazines greater than 10 rounds. All previous grandfathered magazines become illegal. Felony if you keep one.

- Changing definition of shotgun revolving cylinder — Basically only single shot shotguns will remain legal.

- Bullet Buttons will become illegal — All AR and AK style rifles that are currently equipped with them will be designated Assault Weapons. Felony to possess.

- All gun owners now must be licensed like drivers.

- All gun owners must carry gun liability insurance

In Missouri the democrats are proposing full confiscation of all firearms. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/02/missouri-democrats-intruduce-legislation-to-confiscate-firearms-gives-gunowners-90-days-to-turn-in-guns/

In Colorado the gun control proposals are also threatening to cost Colorado hundreds of jobs.

New York has also increased the level of gun control with draconian measures. Ask Mr. Pratt his feelings about the States going even beyond what the federal government is proposing.

I am a firm believer the 2nd Amendment specifically applies to the federal government for the purpose of giving the people the ability to stop a tyrannical government should one arise. That means that "shall not be infringed" means that all federal gun laws are unconstitutional. What is Mr. Pratt's feelings about that?

We keep hearing the phrase "assault weapon." That term has been created by the left. There is no such animal. There is an assault rifle, which has the ability to be switched between single shot, multiple shot, and fully automatic - but they are already illegal. The AR-15 is considered an assault weapon by these people, but the only difference between it and my hunting rifles is a cosmetic addition, which is a pistol grip. Apparently, language is being used to get the public to support their thrust against "assault weapons." How can the pro-gun crowd better battle against the war of definitions?

Does Mr. Pratt believe as I do that this is just a series of steps that the liberal left hopes will ultimately lead to full confiscation, as happened in Great Britain in 1997.

Piers Morgan said to Ted Nugent (and to Alex Jones) that there are less gun deaths in Britain as a result of the confiscation of all guns. Nugent immediately quoted statistics in the U.S. where crime rates are lower in places where gun ownership, and concealed carry permits, are higher. In Britain, though gun deaths are down, violent crimes and home invasions are up, which are actually consistent with the U.S. statistics about crime rates in relation so the number of gun owners. Why do those statistics reveal what they reveal, and why is it that the liberal left refuses to acknowledge those statistics?

Then, after the interview, JASmius will launch into the 5 Big Stories of the Week, February 16, 2013
