Abortion Battle in Texas

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I have never understood the abortion battle.  I have real trouble understanding how anyone could support the senseless slaughter of the unborn in the name of convenience, and basically as a means of post-pregnancy birth control.  I get it, sometimes a medical procedure must be used to terminate a pregnancy to save lives, such as in the case of Ectopic/Tubal Pregnancy (when the egg implants in the Fallopian Tubes, or another place outside the uterus, which places both the child and baby at risk).  But cases like that is not what I am talking about.  97% of abortions are for no reason other than after-conception birth control.

In Texas, the Republicans are pushing for banning abortions after 20 weeks, which is after the heart begins beating, and after the unborn baby begins to feel pain.

After the testimonies of the Gosnell case, where the horror of what abortion is all about was revealed (body parts on the floor, babies pulled apart, crying babies silenced by the doctor cutting the spine at the back of the neck), you would think that this bill working its way through the legislature in Texas would be embraced.  But the democrats are freaking out, calling it sexist, and a part of a war on women.

What woman desires to murder her own child?  A baby is a blessing.  Yet, these protesters against the Texas bill are screaming to keep the blood of murders flowing, to increase the slaughter, rather than curtail it.  And remember, these liberals are the same people who support amnesty, because we need the workers.  What about the 50 million Americans that have been killed off?  Is that why we need amnesty?  To replace the Americans killed before they could even take their first breath?
