BART Workers Union Go On Strike in San Francisco - Over Increased Health Care Costs

By Douglas V. Gibbs

My first thought is, welcome to the real world, and the world of Obamacare.

I get it.  Unions look out for the workers. But are they above the rest of us?  Do you understand this is over an increase of employer costs for health care of only about 8% of the $92 flat fee they pay now?

And then, these largely democrat party voters aren't willing to recognize that this is what happens when Obamacare is in place, and liberals are in charge?

BART is San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit system, and two of the largest unions for BART are officially on strike.  The strike is over a failure of a new contract, where union negotiators of walked away from the bargaining table.

With workers walking off the job, the public transportation system will be crippled, and the morning rush hour will add 60,000 vehicles to the road.
