Self-Censoring GOP Machine Banned Sarah Palin from Talking About Who Obama Really Is During 2008 Campaign

SARAH PALIN: MCCAIN CAMPAIGN ‘BANNED’ ME FROM TALKING ABOUT JEREMIAH WRIGHT AND BILL AYERS

Sarah Palin said John McCain’s presidential campaign forbade her from talking about Barack Obama’s controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright or his association with Bill Ayers during the 2008 race.

“Though I was during the campaign running for V.P., I was banned from talking about Jeremiah Wright and Obama’s friend Bill Ayers,” Palin said on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” Friday. “Couldn’t talk about that. Couldn’t talk about Obama’s lack of knowledge and job experience and the things that he said like America had 57 states, things like that.”

“In the campaign, Greta, this is important for Americans to understand — I was not allowed to talk about things like that because those elitists, those who are the brainiacs in the GOP machine running John McCain’s campaign at the time said that the media would eat us alive if we brought up these things,” she continued.

That “self-censoring,” Palin said, meant a campaign where “we weren’t allowed to tell the truth about who the candidate was, Barack Obama.”

Pulling out a sheet of paper she called the “redneck version of a white board” like that used by GOP strategist Karl Rove, Palin said the country has now been engulfed in scandals including the IRS, Benghazi and Fast and Furious.
