Palin, GOP Look To "Mama Grizzlies" In Fall Elections

by JASmius

Kinda makes you wonder if anybody would have bothered with this piece without "Palin" in the headline, doesn't it?:

If the GOP wants to take back the U.S. Senate, it will need the help of the "Mama Grizzlies."
Do tell.

From Georgia to Montana women are expected to run for Senate seats in 18 states this fall. And 16 Republican women, one shy of a record set in 2012, are likely to be on ballots.

As with recent election cycles, the roster of strong Republican women running in November should be a factor in determining the balance of power in Congress, political observers tell Newsmax.

Um, how many of those "strong Republican women" won in '12?  In terms of challengers, I believe it was zippo.  Because, of course, as everybody is required by Executive decree to acknowledge, "strong Republican women" is a euphemism for "Republican transvestites."

Returning to the land of fairness for a spell, was the '12 debacle a function of so many Republican candidates being "strong women"?  Ordinarily I would say "not at all," but in a cycle unworthily and heavily influenced by the Democrats' "war on women" meme, the fact that so many Republican candidates were, er, "mama grizzlies" had much less impact than one would have reasonably expected.  At the very least, their strength was vastly overrated.

"I’m very excited to see more women running for office," former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told Newsmax in an exclusive interview by email. "I’m a huge supporter of what I call the 'Mama Grizzlies' in the conservative movement.

"These are common-sense conservative women who protect their cubs and who are determined to clean up the fiscal mess in D.C. so that we can protect the blessings of liberty and prosperity for our children and grandchildren."
Wow, 'cuda doesn't think small, does she?  Which is to say, I admire her fighting spirit, but the task she's describing will be the work of generations.  It won't be accomplished by any contemporary "sows".  But it does have to start somewhere.

Will any "sows" get the chance?  Perhaps without President Panzy-Ass on top of the ballot, the way will be open.  But success won't come from the gender of the barricade-stormers.  If there's anything conservatives should have learned by now, it is that identity politics only works for the Dems.  They make sure of it.

And, come to think of it, on our side of the great partisan divide (i.e. in the gulag), that's as it should be.
