The Truth About Feminism, and Gay Rights

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Sometimes, I get ideas for articles, and jot some quick notes down because I am not in a position to write out the articles, but I don't want to forget the idea.  Then, the notes, when I get home, get placed on a stack on the left side of my desk.  Sometimes I use those notes, and sometimes some of them remain on that stack, until much later, possibly years later, I find those notes again.

The following was inspired by one of those old notes.

What Feminism and Gay Rights is Really About

If feminism was about women's rights then wouldn't the women of the Left be standing together with the Muslim women, demanding that the leaders of Islam grant Muslim women their rights?

Ever notice that gay rights activists use the 14th Amendment to justify their cause, claiming that the 14th Amendment applies to lifestyle behavior and gender in addition to race?  If that is the case, then why did the women's suffrage movement push for an equal rights amendment if their rights are already protected by the 14th Amendment?

The women's rights movement understood that the 14th Amendment explicitly applies to race and color, but now it has become politically expedient to believe otherwise.
