Kerry: Release of Taliban Commanders Not Risky to Troops

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The premise from which the modern day liberal left progressive democrats operate makes it impossible for them to understand reality.  To them, the beginning of wickedness in the world rests on the shoulders of the men who created the American system.  The United States has prospered, according to them, by taking from the rest of the world, creating a system where the rich gets richer, and the poor get poorer.  America, the liberal leftists believe, has flourished on the backs of the poor. . . and among the victims of America's parasitic prosperity were the Muslims.  They, the followers of the false prophet Muhammad, hate us because of what we have done to them, so say the liberal left democrats of our day.

Based on the liberal left premise of deconstructionism, Secretary of State John Kerry made a statement that may seem nonsensical to the average conservative, or completely lacking of common sense to the average adherent to the principles of the United States Constitution.  According to Kerry, there is no potential danger to Americans as a result of the release of Taliban commanders in exchange for deserter, traitor, and Muslim convert, Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.  He said it was "baloney," that the terrorists would return to terrorism, and even if they did, he said the deal woudl not put U.S. troops further at risk. He claimed he based his argument on the fact that the United States is winding down its military presence in Afghanistan.

“Our combat role in Afghanistan is over,” Kerry said. "We’re going to have very few people in that kind of position.”

“I just think that’s a lot of baloney because, to whatever degree it may be true, they will wind up putting themselves at the mercy of those people who are very effective (at) who are there, who will deal with those guys,” Kerry said.

“I am not telling you that they don’t have some ability at some point to go back and get involved, but they also have an ability to get killed if they do that,” he continued.

Reports have surfaced that Bergdahl deserted his post, and that other military personnel were killed while searching for him.  Kerry has strongly defended the decision to recover Bergdahl, regardless of the strong evidence of desertion, treating the traitorous action by the army service member like it was a silly youth skipping class.

Regardless of Bergdahl's unacceptable actions, Kerry claimed the trade was in the spirit of leaving no American behind - no matter what.

Meanwhile, as a deserter is traded for five dangerous terrorists through negotiations with terrorists, a United States Marine remains imprisoned in Mexico.  The White House claims the situation is different, because Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi in Mexico is not being held by enemy combatants.
