Obama Flunks Management 101

by JASmius

Or so opines Peter Morici today:

Thanks to the scandals and missteps at the Veterans Administration and elsewhere in the federal bureaucracy, President Barack Obama is losing all credibility as a manager and leader.

Stop the tape.  Forgive me, Pete, but just exactly when has Barack Obama ever had credibility as a manager and leader in the first place?  I seem to recall that particular chink in his demidivine armor being highlighted and flogged from one end of the 2008 campaign to the other, and it never made a damn bit of difference, as he was elected president anyway.  Then came his abysmal first term, and a GOP challenger that was and is a professional manager and leader, and O was re-elected anyway.  Clearly the 52% weren't looking for management skill or leadership ability, but to feel good about themselves by putting and keeping a black man in power, no matter how incompetent a boob he is.

Many Americans are justifiably enraged or at least awfully frustrated by federal government overreach, incompetence and corruption.

Caveat emptor.  "Let the buyer" - or, in this case, voter - "beware".  If it was good enough advice for Mike Brady to pass on to his eldest son, it's good enough for the early twenty-first century American electorate.  Which, of course, is why they never practice it.  Because to do so would, you know, be racist.

The president’s actions indicate politics trumped those responsibilities at the VA and other federal agencies.

You were expecting....what, exactly?  The responsible actions of a good "CEO" instead of the self-serving abuses of power of a corrupt, thuggish tyrant?  My apologies if I sound a tad impatient with this recitation, but I've long ago grown weary of saying, "We told you so!".  All this was foreseeable and preventable, and it was instead ignored.  Which means that if anybody does bear responsibility for VA-gate and all of Red Barry's other "gates" besides The One himself, that portion of the 52% who are "enraged or frustrated" should look in the mirror for his accomplices.

Happily, Mr. Morici does conclude with a punchline so devastatingly incisive that he could have plagiarized from this site:

For ideologically committed liberals, the whole affair is a disaster. The VA scandal, along with public dissatisfaction with Obamacare, lay bare that the federal bureaucracy is incapable of managing health care effectively.

And Democrats championing a national health service, patterned after the British model, are essentially proposing to generalize the frustrations suffered by 8 million veterans at the VA to more than 300 million Americans at virtually every medical facility across the nation.

Instead, most VA facilities should be sold to the private sector or closed.

Pete is wrong about one thing.  VA-gate isn't the result of incompetent management and leadership; it's the result of entirely competent, even ruthless, management and leadership in the diametrically opposite ideological direction.

The 52% elected and re-elected a Marxist-Alinskyist as their president, and they got the results they voted for.  If some or all of them are pissed about it, let them learn their lesson and never elect a Democrat president ever again.

If O allows any more elections, that is.
