The American Form of Government: Understanding Americanism

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The John Birch Society produced the short film below.  Though the Birch'rs and I don't agree on everything (we are on the opposite end of the arguments regarding a convention of the States, and the difference between the authority to "wage war" and "declare war" for example), for the most part we are allies.  When it comes to understanding political philosophy, the political spectrum, the rule of law, and the definitions of the forms of government, we are completely on the same page.  The video below clearly explains Americanism, and the political philosophies the writers of the Constitution were wrestling with.  Though I have placed this video on Political Pistachio before, I believe it is important to do so again, now.
