Store Owners On Their Own in Ferguson, Missouri

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The violence in Ferguson continues, but now the police are nowhere to be seen.

With a feeling among The Right that Obama wants a police state, and police departments around the country arming up with "martial law" style equipment, is this an attempt to get people to beg for police presence, and a police crack-down on what is going on?

Police occupation of Ferguson began, but was pulled back.

According to Fox News, looters are being met with little police resistance.  Store owners claim that protecting their businesses fell upon them, with their own guns, now that the riot police have pulled back.

How long will it be before leftists demand that those store owners be disarmed because their guns are a danger to the poor kids that are innocently looting?

Former St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch tweeted: "You did not see "police restraint" overnight. You saw police reluctant to act. We cannot keep stoning the keepers at the gate."

The riots are regarding the shooting by police of 18 year old Michael Brown on August 9.  Police say he was robbing a convenience store, and was fatally shot within police guidelines.

The police spelled out the allegations that Brown committed the robbery, and released the surveillance video, which angered attorneys for Brown's family and many in the community, including U.S. Rep. William Lacy Clay.

The Democrat congressman took a bullhorn and told protesters, "They have attempted to taint the investigation. They are trying to influence a jury pool by the stunt they pulled today," thus encouraging more unrest.  He should be charged with inciting rioting.

The rioting found a resurgence after a momentary abatement following Governor Jay Nixon's decision to turn oversight of the protests over to the Missouri Highway Patrol.  The change-over removed the police in riot gear and armored vehicles, and replaced the military-style police with a new patrol commander who personally walked through the streets where rioting was occurring.  Without the police in place, enforcement essentially vanished, and protection has fallen upon the community.

Are they waiting for the people to beg for a return of military-style police with riot gear and armored vehicles?

Darkness always appears as an Angel of Light, and Convinces You to Beg for Tyranny.
