Marijuana Threatens Environment in California

By Douglas V. Gibbs

For some reason the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for," comes to mind.

When the colonists first came to the New World, to survive, they needed a cash crop.  Tobacco turned out to be the big money maker that would save the colonies, and ensure the development of the English Colonies that would eventually evolve into the United States of America.

Tobacco is now the enemy, and the liberal left has done all they can to kill that vice, and force any profits from cigarettes to go up in smoke.

Marijuana is their new baby, and I think they are so supportive of the legalization of marijuana for recreational use because they know their opponents, conservatives, are generally against the legalization of marijuana.  The progressives love to play "gotcha," and love to support anything they think will piss off their opposition. . . even if doing so is idiotic.  And that is why it is so funny when leftist policies wind up backfiring in their faces.

The funny thing about cash crops is that profit becomes a pretty important thing once it starts rolling in.  And the thing about greedy profiteers like the liberal leftists who normally don't like to engage in such capitalistic activities, is they know no restraint, and are willing to do anything to make sure they get their fair share.

Interesting.  The pot entrepreneurs, once they have a chance for profit, suddenly forget all about their environmentalist ways.
