Tensions Apparent @ Obama-Netanyahu Meeting

by JASmius

Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the White House on Wednesday, discussing a variety of issues that have chilled the relationship between the two allies. Increasingly at odds over the Iranian nuclear threat and the summer’s [incessant Hamas rocket attacks against Israeli civilians], the two leaders have starkly different viewpoints on important matters, observers say. The term "woodshed" comes to my mind.  The very fact that Obama is grudgingly agreeing to meet with the man who has publicly schooled him on Middle East realpolitik each and every time they've met, always to his raging behind-the-scenes chagrin, is an indication, at least to me, of how weak even he recognizes his position to be.

But will O listen?  Don't be absurd. He's only just begun to enjoy watching the world burn, smugly certain that the flames will never touch him.
