Abortion Rates Fall To Historic Lows

by JASmius

Somewhere in a non-descript corner of hell, Margaret Sanger is weeping:

The number of women having abortions dropped 13% between 2002 and 2011, new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show.

That trend is likely due to lingering effects of the recession, reproductive health experts, such as those at the Guttmacher Institute, have said.

No, that's how they're desperately trying to spin it, because admitting to the alternative explanation - that the American people have already become (narrowly) majority pro-life, with that trend increasing at an accelerating pace - would be a death knell to the Left's child-sacrifice sacrament, as well as a concession of something - that history and culture can swing in both directions, or, in other words, against the Left - that is supposed to be impossible.

But if the GI wants to effectively blame the atrophying of the abortion industry on Obamanomics, they're free to do so.  To the degree that that is the case, the irony is hilarious.

The report also shed light on the number of abortions performed after the politically charged timeframe of twenty weeks of gestation.

Just 1.4% of abortions took place after twenty weeks, which has been the center point of debate in recent years as Republicans, including incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have vowed to introduce legislation banning abortions after that timeline.

…The rate of abortions decreased among women in every age group except those younger than fifteen years old, which increased slightly but remained fewer than 1% of all procedures.

Post-twenty-week abortions are the finger in the dike, folks.  Once they're outlawed (and yes, that should be done at the state level, as the federal government has no constitutional authority to do anything regarding abortion one way or the other absent an amendment to that end), as the American people already support, what's left?  The other 98.6% percent of the dwindling abortion "pie".

You could say that the child-murderers fear a "reverse- slippery slope".  Which helps explain the grotesquely criminal lengths to which they are willing to go, with the oftentimes-complicity of the governing authorities, to preserve what "business" and "clientele" they have left.

With genuine life-science, genetics, and American culture turning against them, what do the anti-lifers have left to sustain them?  Barack Obama and the Democrat Party.  Or, in other words, they still have the upper hand.  And the more jeopardized that upper hand becomes, the more vicious, murderous, and authoritarian they will become.

"Cornered animals," and all that.
