Bernie Sanders Throwing Christians A Bone?

by JASmius

Perhaps.  Most likely it's a dishonest attempt to make himself look less frightening to his self-declared political enemies - another manifestation of the bipartisan statesmanship veneer I mentioned earlier this morning:

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Sunday highlighted his record on LGBT rights but stopped short of endorsing the removal of tax-exempt status from religious organizations that refuse to recognize same-sex "marriages," which were recently [and illegally imposed] nationwide by the Supreme Court.

“I don't know that I would go there,” the Vermont senator said on CNN's State Of The Union. “You know, we have religious freedom and I respect people who have different points of view. But my view is that people have a right to love each other regardless of one's sexual orientation.”

The question being, will Sanders' long-time pro-perversion voting record be enough to satisfy the Extreme Left, or will his claimed disinclination to bulldoze churches and consign evangelicals to concentration camps blunt his campaign's new-found momentum?  My guess is that he's counting on the Donk rank & file being so desperate to not be yoked to the doomed "Ready for Hillary!" Express that they'll be willing to tolerate settling for not eradicating Christianity entirely.

Besides, he could always renege on that bipartisan statesmanship after he was safely elected.

Which he'll never be.

Praise God.
