Trump: I'll Force Apple To Manufacture All Their Products In The U.S.

by JASmius

As in use the police power of the federal government to coerce Apple into allowing its labor polices to be dictated by President Trump.  By executive order, no doubt.  Probably putting Apple out of business in the process, since there are very and perfectly valid economic reasons why they do their manufacturing overseas, as it is inconceivable that a businessman like Donald Trump doesn't know perfectly well.

How is it that Trumplicans would react with visceral, reflexive rage if Barack Obama were to suggest such a despotic action but roar with approval when it comes from their hero?:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he will push for companies including Apple Inc. to bring manufacturing back to the United States.

"Make America great again," Trump said in a speech at Liberty University in Virginia. "We’re going to get things coming. We’re gonna get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country instead of in other countries.” [emphasis added]

How so, Donnie?  By executive decree?  You're never going to get Congress to do your dirty work for you, unless the Democrats take it back in the proportions they did in the 2008 election.  And either way it would be abhorrently unconstitutional, the only difference being one of degree.  Or is that the 2016 result you're really seeking, in addition to your own ascension?  And how would that restore America's "greatness"?  What about the old adage that before America can be "great," America must first be "good"?  Where's the goodness in such communistic bully-boy police state tactics whose end result can only be another round of job destruction and economic disincentives?

Apple does research and design at its headquarters in Cupertino, California but now manufactures most of its iPhones, iPads and Macintosh computers through partners in countries such as [Red] China. Apple made and assembled many products in the U.S. until the late 1990s, and then shifted manufacturing to Asia to take advantage of the region’s industrial base and lower labor costs.

"Lower labor costs" speaks for itself - too damned much government intervention in labor markets.  "The region's industrial base" distills down to "their labor pool is smarter and more skilled and better educated than our own because our socialized education system churns out ignorant little indoctrinated, racist commie drones and Obama Youth instead of educated, capable young people with useful knowledge and skills to offer twenty-first century employers.  And, oh yes, they demand to be paid up the wazoo anyway, and the Obama Regime backs them up in direct proportion to pigmentation level.

Anybody know Trump's education proposals?  Or if he even as any beyond "Make America Great Again!  BRAWWWWWK!"?

This, once again, is why I detest "populism".  It's all emotion and no brains.  Problems cannot be "fixed" by issuing orders and throwing money at them.  And not every problem is for government to "solve".  Lefties have always believed this nonsense, but conservatives used to know better.  Do they really have to be retaught that lesson the hard way by a leftwing weakman demagogue like Donald Trump?
