Cook Political Report: Hillary @ 304 Electoral Votes WITHOUT Tossups

by JASmius

Or, "The Dark Side of Trumpmania":

The nonpartisan Cook Political Report has shifted eleven States on its election scorecard toward Democrats since Donald Trump became the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

“This has been an exceedingly unpredictable year,” the analyst said. “Although we remain convinced that Hillary Clinton is very vulnerable and would probably lose to most other Republicans, Donald Trump's historic unpopularity with wide swaths of the electorate — women, millennials, independents and Latinos — make him the initial November underdog.”

Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin were all shifted from toss-up states to leaning Democrat. The “solid Republican” States Missouri and Indiana were downgraded to “likely Republican.” New Mexico is now solidly Democrat, and North Carolina is a toss-up after leaning Republican. The analyst also shifted Arizona and Georgia from likely Republican to leaning Republican....

The shifts are good news for [Mrs.] Clinton and down-ballot Democrats, who are increasingly seeking to tie their GOP opponents to Trump. [emphases added]

The current tally?:

With these changes, 190 Electoral Votes are in the Solid Democrat column, 27 are in Likely Democrat and another 87 are in Lean Democrat – enough for a majority. Yet another 44 Electoral Votes are in Toss Up. Although Iowa, New Hampshire and Ohio could shift to Lean Democrat and Nevada could shift to Likely Democrat, we are holding off on changes in these States until we see more evidence.

That would give Hillary 348 Electoral Votes....and counting.

I'll keep saying it until Trumplicans either admit their criminal error or shut the hell up: If you wanted to stop Hillary Clinton, you shouldn't have nominated Donald Trump.  That you did nominate Donald Trump tells me that destroying the Republican Party was more important to you.

Lotsa luck escaping that blast wave.  For the looks of it, it's a doozy.
