In the Notting Hill district of London a massive fire has engulfed a 24-story (some reports say 27 stories) residential building. So far, it has been reported that 12 people have been confirmed dead from the blaze, no doubt a number that will rise rapidly once the blaze is out. The building was built in the communist "stack 'em and pack 'em" fashion, a massive building with 120 apartments in it and with between 400 and 600 residents. The fire continues after 14 hours of burning, though now it looks more like a smoking building.
More than 200 firefighters have battled the inferno so far.
The screams of the victims and the bodies of children being thrown from the building in the hopes it would save their lives will haunt the witnesses forever.
While the cause of the fire remains unknown at this point, an Islamic terrorist connection would not surprise me.
