As the New Democrat-Led 110th Congress Marches In

Power. The Democrats have it, and promise to wield it, sure to raise the minimum wage within the first 100 hours, and pledging to be as big a thorn in Bush's side as possible, one wonders how effective the village idiots will truly be.

Bush knows government will be divided for his final two years. Political opposition promises to be fierce. Pelosi's determined to push bills that are nothing more than political statements against Bush's Administration, and against the Republican Party.

And after promising to cut and run, and then toying with the idea of reinstating the draft in a true flip-flop, under the pressure of war protesters, the Democrats will surely return to their cut-and-run position. In fact, Cindy Sheehan and her war-protesting disciples made an appearance already, chanting for the troops to be brought home now.
Democrats cower before screaming flag-burning radical groups, thinking that the most vile protesters represent mainstream America. Believe me, they will be doing whatever it takes to flee from Iraq just so they can put a smile on the faces of Sheehan and her cronies.

Nancy Pelosi, our nation's first female House speaker, is not interested in doing what is best for this country. Her agenda is simply to set up the 2008 election. For the Democrats governing is not about what's best for the USA. It is all about what is best for the Democratic Party. However, with a bunch of freshmen Dems in office that actually carry some conservative viewpoints, I don't think that the liberal's biggest challenge will be the Republican Party. The greatest obstacle for the liberals will be controlling the less-than-liberal young Democrats that are now in office.

However, Republicans shouldn't do nothing, letting Dems sink their listing ship as we all expect them to do. There are too many leftist nutcakes out there capable of swaying the mindless folks out there that don't understand politics to the fullest. The Republicans must return to the conservative platform solidified by Reagan, and fight the liberals to the end. Passivity is not how you win a Chess game. The Right must go on the offensive and slap the Democrats around like LSU did to Notre Dame. (Sorry, just had to say it. Being a Razorbacks fan, I'm rooting for the SEC teams - Congrats LSU! Go Florida!)

I believe the two main battles on the political front will be the troops in Iraq, and taxes.

But really, if we let them do what they want, America will have to endure a ridiculous raise to the minimum wage, higher taxes, legal status and voting rights for all illegals, lower moralities (abortion, gay rights, censorship-or the lack thereof), a tail between the legs retreat in the war on terror, civil rights for members of terrorist groups, and a plethora of liberal government handouts.

God help us.

  1. Undoubtedly an apt prediction Douglas. The Dems are nothing if not predictable. It should be an amusing, if not frightening couple of years.

Even that smiling face of that Jack Arse reminds me of the face of Cindy Sheehan. LOL

The Irish got their arses spanked!
Dang, that LSU QB is huge!

I got your comment awhile back at my Chargers blog. I am more a fan of the NFL anyways...Go Chargers! 14-2, Best in the league!

Dems think they will do good for the people in their policies and agendas, I hope they don't get their way.

  4. The Chargers and Raiders have the same record, just in reverse - lol - Congress is in for a big change. We go from the issues driven Congress of the Republicans to the what-the-polls-say/emotions/power-drive-for-2008 driven Congress of the Democrats.

  5. yeah Russel of LSU is a man-child, I thought he was lineman. I read an article Rove put out after the midterm elections that made sense. Typically the second term midterms do not bode well for the sitting pres, then 15+ seats were deciding by a very slim majority, thus the room for the GOP to make up in 08

Nanci Pelosi IS interested in doing what's right for this country. It's somewhat UnAmerican to questions someones's motives, someone who you don't know personally, because you disagree with their politics.

My Auburn Tigers beat both LSU and gave Florida it's only loss of the season.

I don't rememeber the massive social agenda that was proposed during the campaign. I do remember a cry to change direction in Iraq. now it seems they will do what they didn't talk about, and not do what they did. All while promising to return integrity to government by not allowing anyone to see specifics of their plans before introduced on the floor for debate.

I think I have entered an altered dimension of space and time....

Great summation Douglas! You are right, the Dems are ruled by polls and perceptions.

It is AMERICAN to question motives of leaders on BOTH sides. Some here have been accusing Republicans of all kinds of things, but don't want the Democrats questioned - that is UNamerican.

Politicians are interested more in doing what is right for themselves than for America - and Nancy Pelosi is a shallow example of the worst among them.

Still calling names and changing the subject, I see. Your comment has nothing to do with what I wrote - no surprise there, either.
