A deep, booming quake struck Los Angeles a mile away from the city of Inglewood tonight. The preliminary magnitude is 5.0. The quake was felt as far away as San Diego, and the damage in Inglewood was minimal. I base these facts on the testimony of my listeners on tonight's Political Pistachio Radio program. One of my San Diego listeners asked if I felt the quake, and my Inglewood listener proclaimed that a lightbulb broke during the quake, which was followed by one aftershock. He also stated that he didn't feel the quake as much as he heard it - a big booming sound, he told me.
I am slightly south of the epicenter, and didn't feel a thing.
