Rejecting Tyranny

In today's language, Liberalism is a label used for The Left. Conservatism is a label used for The Right. There was a time, long ago, when they meant the opposite. In fact, the mix and match of meanings exists in some places around the world. What it all really comes down to is the Left and the Right.

The political spectrum is simple. The extreme right side of the spectrum is the home of anarchy. To the far left is totalitarianism. And it is that zone that is left of center from which government controls the people, and tyranny arises from.

Worldwide, the danger of leftist politics is being recognized, quite possibly. Fox News is reporting that left-leaning politicians in France, Germany, and other European nations, are losing in elections. Right-leaning parties, who do not favor bailouts and increased spending, are expected to gain seats, throughout most of Europe.

The socialist experiment has failed, and they know it. Unfortunately, the American Liberal stupidly still believes that government is the solution to our problems, rather than the cause of our problems.

Meanwhile, in a showdown between Iranian and American influence in Lebanon, the U.S. backed alliance has won, dethroning Hezbollah, for the time being, according to the New York Times.

This may all be temporary. Time will tell. But, the news out of Europe and Lebanon is encouraging, at the least. It seems, for now, that the world is rejecting tyranny.
