Politically Correct Dummies

The 33rd Annual Ventriloquist Convention, just south of Cincinnati in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, made the news. It is the largest ventriloquism convention in the world, but that is not the reason for the attention. The fact that folks came from around the world to attend the event also had little to do with the sudden fascination with this convention.

The more than 400 performers brought their dummies along for the trip, and when the reference to the dummies was made, one of the conventioneers said, "They're wooden Americans. They don't call them dummies."

Excuse me? Did he just call a dummy, a lifeless puppet, a wooden American?

Since most stuff like this is made in China, wouldn't it be a "Wooden Made In China American?"

This is ridiculous stuff, right?

Maybe we ought to start calling bloggers Information Transfer Specialists.

Sand And Gravel Truck Drivers would be Sand And Gravel Relocation Specialists.

Jeez.
