Lockerbie Bomber Release Cruel to Families of Victims

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The release of Abdel Beset al-Megrahi, the Libyan terrorist convicted of killing 270 people in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, by Scotland’s Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, was unbelievably cruel to the families of the victims of that flight.

MacAskill claimed the release was for humanitarian reasons, since al-Megrahi suffers from a terminal case of prostate cancer. The Scottish judiciary decided they wished to be kind to the murderer of 270 people, and let him die of his cancer at home.

I wonder how surprised MacAskill was when Libya welcomed al-Megrahi home like he was some kind of hero.

I also wonder if, since he's going to die anyway, if al-Megrahi will be strapping on a suicide belt for one last terrorist action some time soon.

Terminally-ill al-Megrahi shouldn't even have gotten the opportunity to contract cancer. He should have been executed years ago.

The message the release of this animal sends to terrorists is that if you get caught, they will still be able to be a terrorist again someday in the future.

Despicable.

This is an example of why The West is incapable of defending itself against an Islamic enemy that is determined to dominate the world, no matter how long it takes, and no matter how many deceptions they must perpetuate.
