Health Care Passage Plunges America Into Dark Ages

Rights. Our rights, according to the Declaration of Independence, are given to us by God. Your rights are not given by government, nor should government be able to take them away. Health Care is not a right, it is a product, a service, something you pay for. The Democrats claim that Health Care is a right, and with a 219 to 212 vote in the House of Representatives, they have passed the Senate Bill, and government controlled health care is now a reality in America.

Only the opposition was bi-partisan.

Backroom deals and a lack of transparency accompanies this unconstitutional legislation.

As we watch this historical moment, and note that just because it is historical it does not mean it is a good thing (after all, 9/11 was a historical moment), 38 states have introduced legislation (and Idaho and Virginia have passed such legislation) rejecting the federal mandate. This is too much of an expansion of government at too great of a cost to future generations.

The Republicans will no doubt run on repealing this in November, but won't be able to do much about it until they gain a large enough majority, and have a Republican President to sign such legislation. In the meantime, many expect the courts to be called upon to determine if this legislation is Constitutional.

Even if the Supreme Court determines the unconstitutionality of this legislation, it will stay on the books until it can be repealed legislatively.

Note that this legislation does not have a public option, is not single payer, and despite Pro-Life Democrat's claims, has in its text language that allows government paid abortions. As a result, the leftists are claiming that this is not a socialist bill, and that all of the compromises will not convince the American People that what the GOP is saying about it is the truth.

Regardless of the truth behind the arguments, one thing is for sure; this was a straight party line vote for a bill that is only the beginning. This bill is going to be used as the foundation for universal health care, a road into the valley of socialism, and a fate much like what Greece is suffering from right now.
