I knew that Merlon Olsen was a famed football player. I've seen pictures of him in uniform. I don't remember when he was playing, though. I was a kid, and wasn't really into football, yet.
Merlon Olsen, however, was on the show, "Little House on the Prairie," and that is how I remember him best.
He was a big guy, with a big heart. From what I understand, a gentle giant, and about as friendly as they get.
Olsen died of cancer.
He will be dearly missed.
