Killer Quake Strikes Northwestern China

More than 400 people dead, 10,000 injured. A 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit northwestern China, and destroyed the town of Jiegu.

Rescue teams are just now entering the area, and are trying to get into the zone much needed emergency medical supplies, food, and tents. The trek in includes an 18 hour drive by automobile through mountainous terrain.

The epicenter was 30 miles from Jiegu in a more sparsely populated pastureland than Jiegu.
