Immigration Issue Grows with Contradictions by Mexican President

By Douglas V. Gibbs

We are not a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of Americans. At one time we were a nation of immigrants because there were no Americans yet. Even the "Native Americans" came from somewhere else.

The United States is expected to open its borders, while the other nations that are demanding it would never do such a thing in their own nations. In fact, after ripping Arizona for its latest immigration law, President Calderon of Mexico admitted with Wolf Blitzer that Mexico's immigration laws are strict, and that captured illegals face prison time.

And obviously, Calderon has not read the law in Arizona, either - or he doesn't care what it says.
