Senate candidate Dick Blumenthal (D-CT) is no Vietnam Veteran. . . He's A Liar

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Senatorial candidate Dick Blumenthal says he unintentionally 'misspoke' about his time in the Marine Reserves but 'won't allow anyone to impugn my record'

Impugn his record? They are only reporting what the liar said. He claimed to be a Vietnam Veteran, and no got caught and is back pedaling.

If Blumenthal was a Republican, his political career would be over. As a Democrat, lying comes naturally.

The whole sha-bang results from it turning out that Mr. Blumenthal had avoided being sent to Vietnam, and yet in a speech in 2008 had said flatly, “We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam.”

Blumenthal's Democrat Party opposition, Merrick Alpert, in Connecticut nailed it when he criticized Blumenthal as soon as the liar began making his way to a waiting car. Alpert stated that Blumenthal had not apologized. “He’s not sorry that he did it, he’s only sorry that he got caught,” Mr. Alpert said.

But it gets better. In the video of his apology, another phony is present. Phonies and liars. Sums up the Democrats, doesn't it?

The fake veteran at the news conference supporting Blumenthal is William Joseph Trumpower (AKA Eliot Storm), a man listed on POW Network's Phony Vets Database. Doug Ross has it right when he wrote: "It's entirely fitting if the staged Blumenthal apology was, as our anonymous contributor asserts, accompanied by another puffed-up bloviator."
