Schwarzenegger's Ballot Difficulties

By Douglas V. Gibbs

"If it's hard to remember, it'll be difficult to forget." -- Arnold Schwarzenegger

I wonder why California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger can't remember how to vote.

And as you read this, remember that this is the guy running the State of California. . .

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian born body builder turned actor, thinks he's a Republican (but most of the time acts like progressive girly man), is married to a Kennedy (Maria Shriver), and can't seem to remember how to vote.

Today is California's Primary Election. The Governator, probably telling his guests at the Governor Mansion "I'll be back" as he left to vote, seemed to forget that when you vote for U.S. Senator on a ballot, you vote for one. Yes, yes, I know each state has two Senators, but they don't run for re-election at the same time.

Basic U.S. Government stuff, you know. Something every average American ought to know. Something someone holding office really should know.

Maybe things are different in Austria.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the elected moron running the State of California as governor (mind you, I voted for Tom McClintock), submitted his ballot and the voting machine didn't like it.

BUZZ. . . REJECTED!

The scanning machine rejected Schwarzenegger's first ballot today because he selected two Senate candidates, instead of one.

The fight is for the opportunity to go up against Barbara Boxer. The Republicans fighting for that opportunity is former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, former congressman Tom Campbell, and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore. So Ahh-nold picked two, meaning there was one he didn't like. Considering how liberal many of Arnold's actions have been in Sacramento, I am guessing he left out Constitutionalist DeVore.

Chuck DeVore is my choice, by the way, and the Tea Party favorite.
