Unsustainable Economic Course

By Douglas V. Gibbs

No entity, be it a governmental body, or a private organization, can survive if they are spending more than they can take in.

The United States is on an unsustainable financial course should the national spending continue on its maddening course.

If we collapse our economy, we will not only see the standard of living drop in the United States, but we will be unable to fund our military, opening the United States up to attack.

In November we are looking at an overwhelming Republican victory, but if the GOP does not do as they are promising, and they just continue the habit of massive spending, we will see a collapse in America's financial system during our lifetimes.

The riots in Greece were nothing if America should economically collapse. We are connected to the entire global system, and our collapse would result in a worldwide collapse. There would be more than blood in the streets.

I am optimistic that we can save our nation, but we must act now. The spending must stop. Reforms to incrementally reduce the size of the entitlement programs must be enacted now. Tax Cuts across the board, coupled with a reduction in restrictions and regulations against business must be implemented. The size of government must be reduced.

Otherwise, our future is in question.
