Ben Franklin Called For Prayer Before Each Session of the Constitutional Convention

And if a Sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?" --Benjamin Franklin, Motion for Prayers in the Constitutional Convention, 1787

According to Madison's Notes on the Constitutional Convention, the motion carried, and the Founding Fathers did in fact pray before each session thereafter.
