Despite GOP Hopes, There Will Be No Compromise From Obama

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Now that the Republicans have gained control of the House of Representatives, made more ground towards controlling the U.S. Senate (a feat that should be complete in 2012), and has gained incredible control over many of the State governments, we are hearing that the Democrats will be forced to compromise more with the GOP. That may be so in the case of some Democrats, but not in the case of President Barack Obama or the true believers of progressivism.

Obama does not believe the GOP win on November 2nd was a referendum on his policies, nor does he believe that the American People truly wants conservative leadership as opposed to his own hard left policies. He believes he has simply not communicated well enough to the people the intricacies of his policies. Obama is unable to hear the American people's opposition to his radical agenda, nor is he willing to try.

Barack Obama is an ideologue who is committed to his destructive agenda, and he will not be willing to give up an inch. He said in his post-election ramblings that every election "is a reminder that in our democracy, power rests not with those of us in elected office, but with the people we have the privilege to serve." Aside from his idiotic blunder of calling this nation a democracy, when it is clearly a republic, his words also provide for us evidence regarding his ability to lie with ease. He obviously does not believe a word of what he said, or at least he didn't while he was cramming through health care reform against the express will of the people (and the authorities provided to the federal government through the U.S. Constitution, for that matter).

Obama believes that no power should rest with the people. If he did, he would have used those big ears to listen to the cries of the people when they shouted against his hard left policies. He would had stopped the process when the people indicated they did not appreciate the rule breaking the Democrats used to push the measures through. In reality, when he said the power rests with the people, what he meant is that he wants the people to think the power rests with them, but in reality he believes that only he and his Democrat Party comrades understands what is good for the public. Obama believes that only the ruling elite understands what is good for the common good, and anyone who refuses to obey their policies shall be subject to censorship through ridicule by the body politic, and their media allies. Obama, and the Democrats, wish to dissolve individuality, and give rise to a centralized system of governance that removes the system of representation by making the Congress irrelevant, the States irrelevant, and the individual voices of the people irrelevant.

The Democrats, and Obama, refuse to recognize the possibility that their health care reform monstrosity could be repealed. In fact, they don't even believe that the people want it repealed, or at least that they will want it repealed once they get to experience the wonderful socialist joys of a government controlled medical care system.

Barry thinks the people just wants that Obamacare law tweaked a little.

Obama only sees his competition as being the Republicans. The people are of little consequence to him.

The hard left Democrats, including Obama, have their head in the clouds. They truly believe that this election was not a repudiation of their liberal agenda.

Today I was watching Axelrod on Chris Wallace's show on Fox News, and Axelrod was simply reiterating Obama's blindness by saying that he rejects the idea that voters oppose the Democrat's agenda. He told Wallace that he believes the election was just the result of Americans being simply frustrated that the economic recovery hasn't occurred more quickly. "But it is occurring," he said, "just not fast enough for the impatient electorate."

The liberal Democrats are completely convinced that their Keynesian pump priming with borrowed money from the private sector is the only thing that saved us from a complete economic meltdown. They poo poo away the high unemployment rate, and the mounting national debt does not concern these people. They are not concerned about the national deficit and high unemployment rate because these morons truly believe they saved us from an economic emergency of incredible proportions.

This is why Barack Obama will not compromise as the Republicans seem to think. He is convinced he saved us from the "worst recession since the Great Depression." And since Barry truly believes his idiotic economic policies have saved us, why would Obama be willing to compromise on his major economic policies?

The Democrats erroneously believe that government creates wealth and jobs, not the private sector. These liberals believe that extending unemployment benefits damn near indefinitely is not only compassionate, but is also another way to stimulate the economy!

So if the Republicans that will be heading for The Hill in a couple months truly believe that the Democrats, and Obama, will be ready to compromise, they have another thing coming.

The only thing Obama will be willing to agree upon is the further unconstitutional expansion of government.
